Avenue M Modern steakhouse. Great atmosphere and crowd. Half price champagne on Thursdays and a cool spot to host a small private party.

X/O Eclectic tapas. Would go back just for the artichoke fritters. A little loud, the bar was very smoky, and slightly farther north than I'd usually go, but the food makes up for all of it.

Quartino Fun place for a large group. Food isn't outstanding or particularly original. Would consider going back for the large selection of very cheap wines.

Landmark Best. Pork Chop. In. The. City. Cool layout of the restaurant, great service, fun bar for pre- or post-dinner and very reasonably priced for the quality and portions.

de cero Upscale Mexican on Randoph. I cannot remember what I ate here, which is never a very good sign. Uncomfortable seating. Most memorable aspect was the bartender.

Brasserie Ruhlmann One of my overall favorites. Excellent escargot, mussles and duck.
